Port of Fleetwood

The marina at Fleetwood

The marina sits inside Wyre Dock at the Port of Fleetwood, behind the lock. It is a fully enclosed dock, so the boats lie afloat at a constant level and are not working the tide on their lines.

Sections A, B and D are closed to navigation

Sections A, B and D of Wyre Dock are closed to navigation until further notice, under Fleetwood Local Notice to Mariners 006 of 2022, dated 31/05/2022. Coming in from the fairway, enter C Section between the two yellow capped piles.

No berth in a closed section is available. If anything on this site shows one as available, it is wrong: tell the marina office.

Berth holders: read this first

If you already keep a boat here, your berthing licence continues on exactly the same terms and there is nothing you need to do. The berth holder page explains the change of operator in full.

The marina is part of the Port of Fleetwood and is operated by FJ Ports (Fleetwood) Ltd from 18/09/2026.

About the marina

Aerial view of Fleetwood marina in Wyre Dock, looking up the entrance channel from the river past the lock towards the pontoons and the commercial dock beyond
Wyre Dock from the river. The lock is in the foreground and the marina pontoons fill the basin behind it.

Berths and sections

There are 184 berths with services laid on, for yachts and motor cruisers, in sections A to G. Sections A, B and D are shut to navigation with no end date given, so the berths that can actually be let are in C, E, F and G. Berthing at the marina explains the layout.

Getting in through the lock

You get into the marina through the lock. The gates are open for three hours around each high water, from 1.5 hours before until 1.5 hours after.

Those hours shorten on neap tides and during sluicing and dredging. The Fleetwood port information page has the detail, and the swing bridge tide times follow the same tide.

Moving around the marina

Call Fleetwood Dock on VHF Channel 12 before you move anywhere in the marina. That is how you get told what else is on the move.

Go no faster than you need to hold steerage, and keep your wash down in Wyre Dock and Fish Dock.

The marina's name

The drawings of the berth layout and the port plan both call this Fleetwood Haven Marina. The outgoing operator's website calls it Fleetwood Beacon Marina, which is that operator's own brand and leaves with it.

Update coming
