Berthing at the marina
The berth layout, how a berthing licence works, the insurance you need and the rules that apply once you are afloat.
The berth layout
The marina is laid out in seven sections, A to G, across Wyre Dock.
Sections A to D
Sections A, B, C and D have pontoon fingers identified AF1 to AF8, BF1 to BF6, CF1 to CF8 and DF1 to DF10.
Sections E to G
Sections E, F and G have berths numbered 1 to 28 across their fingers, with some berths subdivided and lettered, such as 10A, 10B, 10C, 11A, 15A, 15B and 16A.
Three sections are closed
Sections A, B and D are shut to navigation, with no end date given, under Fleetwood Local Notice to Mariners 006 of 2022, dated 31/05/2022. Coming in from the fairway, you enter C Section between the two yellow capped piles.

Getting a berth
Berths are let under a berthing licence. A licence gives the right to occupy a berth, not a tenancy, and use of the berth is not exclusive.
A berth, or storage ashore, is applied for on the marina's application form for a berthing licence, with a copy of your insurance certificate. The licence fee is paid on signing unless another arrangement is agreed. Lifting and storage need a service order completed in advance.

The berthing licence
What a licence sets out
A berthing licence sets out the berth, the start date, the end date, the fee, and the conditions. The fee is set by reference to the marina price list.
If you already hold a licence
Berth holders who held a licence with Associated British Ports before 18/09/2026 continue on exactly the same licence, on exactly the same terms. Nothing about the existing licence changed on the transfer date. See the berth holder page.
Licence terms for new berths and 2027 renewals. This is being confirmed and will be published here.
Insurance
Berth holders must insure their vessel, with third party liability cover of not less than £3,000,000. This is the requirement under the existing berthing licence conditions and it has not changed.

Visitors
Visiting vessels are taken on a visitor licence, giving the vessel's dimensions, dates and insurance. The same minimum of £3,000,000 third party cover applies. A visitor car pass can be requested. Short stay rates are on the tariffs page.
Visitor arrangements under the new operator. This is being confirmed and will be published here.
Living aboard
You may not live aboard your vessel in the marina without the marina's prior written consent. Consent is given under a residential use agreement for a fixed period, and a surcharge applies on top of the licence fee. See the tariffs page.
Rules that apply on the water
Before you move
Call Fleetwood Dock on VHF Channel 12 before you move within the marina, before you slip from a berth, before you shift berth, and before you come off the fuel berth or the lifting berth.
Speed, wash and sluicing
- Go no faster than you need to hold steerage, and keep your wash down.
- Do not lie on the waiting pontoon while sluicing is under way.
- Sluicing can pull the dock level down by two metres or more. Leave plenty of slack in your lines.
Prohibited activities
Water skiing, aqua-planing and similar activities are prohibited in the docks and navigable channels under byelaw 33 of the Fleetwood Harbour and Docks Bye-Laws 1982. The slipway is used at your own risk.
Unpaid fees
